KOL Daily (酷得利) started in 2021 as a Chinese-language home-cooking blog and now publishes the same recipes in English, Japanese and Vietnamese, with more languages on the way. It is written by Mia Ko, a home cook based in Southeast Asia who grew up between Chinese and Southeast Asian kitchens and cooks Thai, Korean, Moroccan and Mediterranean food at home most weeks.
The goal is simple: recipes that work the first time, explained clearly from prep to plate, with the ingredient notes and substitutions you need when you live far from the dish's home country.
How our recipes are developed
Every recipe on the site is cooked in a home kitchen with ordinary equipment before it is published. Quantities are given in grams and millilitres first, with US cups in the English edition, and cooking times are written as ranges with visual cues so you can judge by what is in the pan, not just the clock.
Nutrition figures are estimates calculated from the ingredient list and are provided for guidance only. Photos are our own or Creative Commons images from Wikimedia Commons, credited under the photo.
How we translate and use AI
Recipes are written in one language and then adapted, not machine-translated, into the others. We use AI writing tools to draft and to speed up translation, and every edition is reviewed by a person for measurements, ingredient names and local availability. Where an ingredient is hard to find in a region, the local edition says so and suggests a substitute.
If you spot a mistake in any language, please tell us and we will fix it.
